John Two-Hawks is a Grammy and Emmy nominated, Platinum Award winning musician,
recording and performing artist whose music is loved by countless fans across the globe.
A preeminent master of the American Indian flute, and highly adept with dozens of
other instruments, Two-Hawks is an Oglala Lakota man who humbly carries on the
ancient traditions, culture and heritage of his people in his life and through his music.
Receiving a GRAMMY nomination for 'Best Native American Music Album' in 2010.
Being the Featured Musician in the musical score for the Emmy Award Winning HBO
movie, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. (This powerful, epic film earned a record 17
Emmy nominations, including one for the musical score, which featured John Two-Hawks).
Having his music featured on The History Channel, earning multiple Native American
Music Awards nominations, and giving a concert performance at the Harwall Arena in
Helsinki, Finland with Finish Super-group, Nightwish, for a sold-out audience of 12,000.
To date, Two-Hawks has released 21 fantastic CDs, authored 4 Books and filmed one
60-minute DVD Music Video. The music of John Two-Hawks has been featured on
HBO, The History Channel, National Public Radio, American Indian Radio on
Satellite, NativeRadio.com, and on countless other national and international media
programs. John has also made numerous appearances on major Television Networks.
John Two-Hawks is a gifted orator and public speaker who has shared the speaking
stage with former President Bill Clinton, Hollywood Actress Mary Steenburgen, Actor
Ted Danson and Arkansas State Senator Blanche Lincoln, to name a few. His uncanny
ability to impart eloquent, profound wisdom never fails to inspire those who hear him.
John is also a veteran educator who has shared his gifts and immense knowledge of
Indigenous historical and contemporary culture and wisdom at conferences, colleges,
universities and schools throughout the world, always enriching, enlightening and
inspiring those he speaks to. He has traveled the globe sharing his culturally based
character building teachings which are rooted in the wisdom of ancient Lakota values.
John Two-Hawks is a gentle, humble, and spiritual soul, whose vision is to one day
see the mending of the sacred hoop of humanity and the healing of the wounds that
have been inflicted on all living creatures, and upon our only home.... Mother Earth.
